How to Keep Your Blood Pressure in Check

Wether you are on blood pressure medication or not, it is always a good idea to try to keep you blood pressure in check.

Sing a Soothing Song Everyday:

Singing forces you to take deep calming belly breaths, which are study-proven to lower blood

pressure up to seven points.  So turn up that radio when you get into the car and sing!

Sip Beet Juice:

It is loaded with nitrate, a natural plant compound that is converted into artery relaxing nitric oxide in

the digestive tract.  Usually you want to take at least 4 ounces daily.

Calm Your Nerves with Hugs:

Spending a minute or two every day hugging a loved one or pet can reduce stress and anxiety levels enough

to send your blood pressure plummeting as much as 30%.

Head off Hypertension with Sesame Oil:

People with moderate to severe high blood pressure who used 1 oz. of sesame oil daily, in place of other

oils, reduced their pressure readings 32 points in two  months.  Sesame oil contains compounds that

relax blood vessel walls.

What do the numbers mean:

Normal is LESS THAN 120/80
