No Time to Exercise?

Cant fit in the 30 minutes of exercise five times weekly needed to lower your risk of heart disease?

Squeeze in two brisk 10 minute walks weekly instead, and you will lower your odds of heart problems,

stroke and blood clots by more than 20%, which is the same as if you have worked out longer.

Short bouts of activity that get your heart pumping are enough to strengthen your heart muscle and arteries research shows.

Boost your benefits with the foods you eat.

Eating a Mediterranean type diet of fish, olives,

fresh produce, whole grains, beans and nuts cuts your

risk of heart disease by another 47%.

Not eating and skipping meals is the worse situation for a health heart.

Sitting is the Next Smoking

sittingisthenext

Sitting is the Next Smoking

In recent centuries, advances in industry and technology have fundamentally changed the way many humans spend their waking hours. Where it was once commonplace to spend virtually all of those hours on your feet – walking, twisting, bending, and moving – it is now the norm to spend those hours sitting.

The modern-day office is built around sitting, such that you can conduct business – make phone calls, send e-mails and faxes, and even participate in video conferences – without ever leaving your chair.

But there’s an inherent problem with this lifestyle. Your body was designed for near perpetual movement. It thrives when given opportunity to move in its fully intended range of motion and, as we’re now increasingly seeing, struggles when forced to stay in one place for long periods.

What Happens When You Sit for Too Long?

Studies looking at life in natural agriculture environments show that people in agrarian villages sit for about three hours a day. The average American office worker can sit for 13 to 15 hours a day.

The difference between a “natural” amount of sitting and modern, inappropriate amounts of sitting is huge, and accounts for negative changes at the molecular level.

According to Dr. James Levine, co-director of the Mayo Clinic and the Arizona State University Obesity Initiative, there are at least 24 different chronic diseases and conditions associated with excessive sitting.

As he wrote in Scientific American:

“Sitting for long periods is bad because the human body was not designed to be idle. I have worked in obesity research for several decades, and my laboratory has studied the effect of sedentary lifestyles at the molecular level all the way up to office design.

Lack of movement slows metabolism, reducing the amount of food that is converted to energy and thus promoting fat accumulation, obesity, and the litany of ills—heart disease, diabetes, arthritis, and more—that come with being overweight. Sitting is bad for lean people, too.

For instance, sitting in your chair after a meal leads to high blood sugar spikes, whereas getting up after you eat can cut those spikes in half.”

Not surprisingly, sitting for extended periods of time increases your risk for premature death. This is especially concerning given the fact that you may be vulnerable to these risks even if you are a fit athlete who exercises regularly.

It takes a toll on your mental health, too. Women who sit more than seven hours per day were found to have a 47 percent higher risk of depression than women who sit four hours or less.

There’s really no question anymore that if you want to lower your risk of chronic disease, you’ve got to get up out of your chair. This is at least as important as regular exercise… and quite possibly even more so.

Practically Speaking: 5 Tips for Better Health if You Work at a Computer

You might be thinking this sounds good in theory… but how do you translate your seated computer job into a standing one? It’s easier than you might think. For starters, check out these essential tips for computer workers:

Stand Up

If you’re lucky, your office may be one that has already implemented sit-stand workstations or even treadmill desks. Those who used such workstations easily replaced 25 percent of their sitting time with standing and boosted their well-being (while decreasing fatigue and appetite).

But if you don’t have a specially designed desk, don’t let that stop you. Prop your computer up on a stack of books, a printer, or even an overturned trash can and get on your feet.

When I travel in hotels, I frequently use the mini fridge or simply turn the wastebasket upside down and put it on top of the desk, and it works just fine.

 Get Moving

Why simply stand up when you can move too? The treadmill desk, which was invented by Dr. Levine, is ideal for this, but again it’s not the only option. You can walk while you’re on the phone, walk to communicate with others in your office (instead of e-mailing), and even conduct walking meetings.

 Monitor Your Screen Height

Whether you’re sitting or standing, the top of your computer screen should be level with your eyes, so you’re only looking down about 10 degrees to view the screen. If it’s lower, you’ll move your head downward, which can lead to back and neck pain. If it’s higher, it can cause dry eye syndrome.

Imagine Your Head as a Bowling Ball

Your head must be properly aligned to avoid undue stress on your neck and spine. Avoid craning your head forward, holding it upright instead. And while you’re at it, practice chin retractions, or making a double chin, to help line up your head, neck, and spine.

Try the “Pomodoro Technique”

You know those little tomato-shaped (pomodoro is Italian for tomato) timers? Wind one up to 25 minutes (or set an online calculator). During this time, focus on your work intensely. When it goes off, take 5 minutes to walk, do jumping jacks, or otherwise take a break from your work. This helps you to stay productive while avoiding burnout.

What’s It Really Like to Work While Standing?

If you’re curious… just try it. Reactions tend to be mixed, at least initially, but if you stick with it you will be virtually guaranteed to experience benefits. The Guardian, for instance, recently featured an article with a first-hand account of working while standing, and the author wasn’t impressed.

He said “standing up to work felt like a horrible punishment” and lead to aches and decreased productivity. I couldn’t disagree more, but I will say that standing all day takes some adjustment. However, many people feel better almost immediately. As one worker who uses an adjustable-height work desk told TIME:

“I definitely feel healthier standing while working as it causes me to be more focused on my posture and ‘hold’ myself better in terms of my stomach and shoulders especially.”

Personally, standing more has worked wonders for me. I used to recommend intermittent movement, or standing up about once every 15 minutes, as a way to counteract the ill effects of sitting. Now, I’ve found an even better strategy, which is simply not sitting. I used to sit for 12 to 14 hours a day. Now, I strive to sit for less than one hour a day.

After I made this change, the back pain that I have struggled with for decades (and tried many different methods to relieve without lasting success) has disappeared. In addition to not sitting, I typically walk about 15,000 steps a day, in addition to, not in place of, my regular exercise program. I believe this combination of exercise, non-exercise activities like walking 10,000 steps a day, along with avoiding sitting whenever possible is the key to being really fit and enjoying a pain-free and joyful life.

You’re Not a Prisoner to Your Chair

If you’re still sitting down while reading this… now’s your chance – stand up! As Dr. Levine said: “We live amid a sea of killer chairs: adjustable, swivel, recliner, wing, club, chaise lounge, sofa, arm, four-legged, three-legged, wood, leather, plastic, car, plane, train, dining and bar. That’s the bad news. The good news is that you do not have to use them.”

Many progressive workplaces are helping employees to stand and move more during the day. For instance, some corporations encourage “walk-and-talk” meetings and e-mail-free work zones, and offer standing workstations and treadmill desks. But if yours isn’t among them, take matters into your own hands. You may be used to sitting down when you get to work, but try, for a day, standing up instead.

One day can turn into the next and the next, but please be patient and stick with it. Research shows that it can take anywhere from 18 to 254 days to build a new habit and have it feel automatic. Once you get to this point, you’ll likely already be reaping the many rewards of not sitting, things like improved blood sugar and blood pressure levels, less body fat and a lower risk of chronic disease.

Tears In The Wind

tearsinthewind (1)

Tears in the Wind

Stand and cry unto the wind and let me remove your pain.

For within the tears of love and life, there is no one to blame.

Let go of the secrets that you hold in tears you will not cry.

For holding them within your spirit will block your energies and spiritual abilities.

For you constantly must build the dam higher and higher to keep them back.

Tears are a gift of the Divine; to let go of whatever has blocked our spirits.

Pain, loneliness, sadness, grief and even joy.

Tears cleanse the spirit and bring renewed energy.

Please Stop! Eating Kraft Mac and Cheese

kraftmacandcheese

In Kraft’s “Easy Mac” they use straight up Monosodium Glutamate aka “MSG” to create addiction to processed foods early in a child’s life – they don’t even try to hide it under the name “yeast extract.”

This is really shocking and to think so many kids around the nation are popping these suckers into microwaves is so sad. Please inform your friends and family – this product shouldn’t exist! Not only does it have GMOs and dyes that can be contaminated with carcinogens, but this type of Mac & Cheese requires a big fat warning label in Europe that says “May Have an Adverse Effect on Activity and Attention in Children.”

This is one of the most unethical products I’ve ever seen – especially since Kraft knows how to use safer ingredients already in some of their other products.  Even Annie’s Homegrown Mac and Cheese was bought out by Kraft Foods, and now is not a natural product.

Three Rules of Love to Live By

love

Three Rules of Love to Live By!

Love Is Not Just Chemistry, You Need Physics!

When people say – “That couple’s got chemistry!” – what exactly are they talking about? Well, they “hit it off,” or they have “much in common,” or they are “bonding,” or they’re “clicking,” or they got-it-going on “romantically!” These phrases are used frequently, but when you think about it, they are surface-statements that do not explain much about the nuts and bolts of a loving relationship. We need physics! The domain of chemistry is the molecular level, while physics is about the motion of bodies in the larger world. Here are three well-known, simple-to-understand physical laws and how they might apply to a couple that’s falling in love, or maintaining a relationship, or struggling toward a break-up. The hope is that some key insights emerge that inspire couples to elevate their relationship through understanding and compassion.

Physical Law: “Opposites Attract”

For human beings to breathe, move, eat, think, and feel it is necessary that the electrical charge outside each cell in our bo dies be opposite to the charge inside the cell. When a positive charge and a negative charge exert force on each other, something vital occurs: life happens! With couples, it is the opposing charges – the differences – that allow two people to fit together – Yin and Yang.  Opposite charges can lead people to have great conflict, but if these opposing charges can be understood and accepted, the result can be a dynamic and beautiful relationship. You and your partner are different. If you are secure enough within yourself that you don’t have to change or control your partner, you can appreciate the differences between you. This appreciation of differences means that you feel complete enough as a person that you don’t need your partner to fill in your gaps and be like you. They are free to be themselves and you can now experience the wonder of discovering more and more about them. When this process is mutual your relationship gets deeper and more intimate.

Physical Law: “For every action, an equal and opposite reaction”

This law has two main effects on relationships:

  1. Everything you do in a relationship has an effect on your partner. Whether you say or do something in the presence of your partner, or you tell them about something you said or did some other time, some other place, and with someone else, it will invariably have an effect. The bonds of commitment are quite pervasive. It’s almost like you and your partner – on some level – are always together. Your partner may enjoy you, complain about you, or keep their reactions to themselves, but they are always affected. So, the lesson is that how you behave, how you treat others, how you carry yourself, even your self-image has consequences for your partner.
  2. When we take an action with our partner’s well-being and happiness in mind, we may have a conscious or unconscious expectation that they will recognize it and appreciate us. Though it is obvious that “keeping score” is not helpful, we are human and vulnerable to the expectation of reciprocity.

Physical Law: “Inertia”

Isaac Newton, the Einstein of his day in the 17th century, stated that objects in motion tend to stay in motion, while objects at rest tend to stay at rest. It makes sense. Simply put, this law of inertia is basically resistant to change. This is a primary issue for couples to deal with. We all wish that the “Honeymoon Phase” would last forever, or we wish to recapture the feeling of its luminosity. Yet, the river of life moves on and each individual and each couple must learn, grow, mature, and adapt to present life circumstances. So, we must overcome this resistance to change. We must overcome the very law of inertia! This is a tall task, but that’s what why we have developed the cortex of the brain. We do have it within our capacity to attain higher and higher states of consciousness. And we have the advantage that each of us has already had higher-consciousness experiences in our lives: seeing your parents have a loving moment together; realizing that you and a friend have developed a true friendship; feeling that you have a secure place in a group; falling in love; exchanging wedding vows with your beloved; providing help or support to deliver the birth of your child; hugging someone tightly and feeling that same loving force when they squeeze you back; etc. So, we are capable of attaining higher consciousness. It is simply the matter of going to that beautiful, loving place more often than before, and going there with our partner. Then you two stay there together for “stretches” of time that become memorable and transcendent.

As you can see, physics plays an integral part of every relationship. By taking these 3 physical laws into consideration, you can better nurture your relationships so that they are full of love and understanding.

Flu is in the Air! Prevention!

' %*

Flu is in the Air!   Prevention!

In the midst of an especially tough flu season, here’s more bad news: Researchers say it may be possible to spread the virus simply by breathing.

Until now, it was thought that people picked up a flu virus when they touched contaminated surfaces or inhaled droplets in the air ejected by an infected person’s coughs or sneezes.

But the new study finds coughs and sneezes may not be necessary to saturate the air with flu virus.

In the study, researchers analyzed air around the exhaled breath of 142 people with the flu.

“We found that flu cases contaminated the air around them with infectious virus just by breathing, without coughing or sneezing,” said study author Dr. Donald Milton, a professor of environmental health at the University of Maryland.

“People with flu generate infectious aerosols [tiny droplets that stay suspended in the air for a long time] even when they are not coughing, and especially during the first days of illness,” he explained in a university news release. “So when someone is coming down with influenza, they should go home and not remain in the workplace and infect others.”

In fact, nearly half (48 percent) of the airborne samples captured in the air around flu patients who were just breathing — not coughing or sneezing — contained detectable influenza virus, the researchers noted.

What’s more, when patients did sneeze, that didn’t seem to add much to the viral count in the samples, Milton’s group added.

Of course certain steps — “keeping surfaces clean, washing our hands all the time, and avoiding people who are coughing,” can still help lower your odds of catching influenza, said Sheryl Ehrman, dean of the College of Engineering at San Jose State University, in California.

Helpful Hint:  Use Tilex routinely, even to spray on your hands, since this is the only product out there that kills all germs, even HIV.

But if an infected person’s breathing spreads flu virus, even those precautions do “not provide complete protection from getting the flu,” she added.

That means that if you are unlucky enough to get the flu, “staying home and out of public spaces could make a difference,” Ehrman said.

Historical Tip:   At the time of Spanish Influenza in the States, people who wore gloves and a “muff”, which covered their mouths, did not come down with the flu.

The researchers believe their findings could help improve mathematical models of the risk of airborne flu transmission and could also be used to develop better public health flu prevention measures.

For example, improvements could be made to ventilation systems in places such as offices, school classrooms and subway cars, to reduce the risk of flu transmission, the team said.

HINT:  Turn off the heat!  Open up a window, even for just 30 minutes.  Take your pillow outside in the cold and that will freeze off germs.  Sometimes washing a pillow in hot hot water first does help, but washing alone will not kill influenza germs.   Yes, you can put them in the freezer for awhile, but don’t heat them up in the dryer afterwards.

The United States is in the middle of a particularly nasty flu season, with nearly all states reporting high levels of severe flu, and hospitals swamped with cases. Experts blame the severity of this year’s flu season on a particularly virulent strain of flu and prolonged periods of very cold weather. People who have had this years flu shot are more at risk of becoming sick this year.

The Flu Season Is Upon Us

The Flu Season Is Upon Us

The strain and severity is new. However, the lies, hogwash and fraud are the same as ever…

no-flu-shot

The push is on to get everyone vaccinated. Never let a good scare story go to waste seems to be the Big Pharma motto, empowered by their lying cronies in the news media.

Why bother though? They have already officially admitted that this year’s flu vaccine (as every year) is pretty worthless. It’s propped up by fake science and phoney statistics.

But this year, they have been caught by the wrong strain (H3N2, an unusual form of influenza A) and have been forced to admit their vaccine only 10% effective! Nevertheless, you should get the vaccine anyway scream the slogans.

Why? Would you take a dangerous opiate if there was only a 10% chance it would relieve your pain? (or only reduce your pain by 10%, for all that risk of misery and death?) And let me tell you, the 10% estimate is way too high. It’s to try and save face; they can still pretend it isn’t a total useless product.1

And by the way, the 10% figure is only a “preliminary estimate”. It could be much lower when the facts are in (if we ever allowed to share the true facts: don’t hold your breath).

Flu vaccination is a classic science fraud, perpetrated by the WHO, CDC and governments all over the world.

Vaccine effectiveness typically ranges from 40 to 60 percent in a good year. Preliminary estimates from last year show the vaccine was 40 percent effective in the U.S., similar to 2014-2015.

Concerns have been raised about this year’s vaccine after an editorial published in the New England Journal of Medicine last Thursday said it was only 10 percent effective against H3N2 in Australia.

Dr. William Schaffner, infectious disease specialist at Vanderbilt University, cautions against using this statistic to predict how well the vaccine will work in the U.S., since this is not official CDC data, but warns it could be a bad sign.

Years in which H3N2 is the predominant influenza strain tend to have higher death rates, with approximately 20,000 deaths in the 2012-2013 and 2014-2015 seasons when H3N2 predominated.

See, the current US-version of the story hasn’t been got at and massaged by the CDC, to make Big Pharma look less incompetent. Meantime, people are suffering everywhere. I have a friend living nearby who was so incapacitated, Vivien and I had to take him soups and juices to live on, till he can look after himself.

The good news, spouts ABC News, is that “This year’s flu seems to be quite susceptible to the available flu medications, like Tamiflu, also known as oseltamivir.”2

Don’t Take Tamiflu!

Oh Yeah? Did anyone ever tell you that Tamiflu is very dangerous? According to the website VaccineImpact.com Tamiflu has nasty side effects not being communicated to the public.

tamiflu

Local CBS news affiliate DFW in Dallas, Texas, has reported the story of a 6 year old girl who was given Tamiflu and suffered horrible hallucinations, allegedly trying to kill herself:

Like so many others, the 6-year-old’s flu diagnosis came with a choice: whether or not to take Tamiflu to speed up the course of the dreaded illness.

The family from Allen, who wants to remain anonymous, says the side effects were stunning: hallucinations, running away from school and an attempt, they believe, to hurt herself.

‘The second story window was open, which is in her bedroom, and she used her desk to climb up onto it, and she was about to jump out the window when my wife came up and grabbed her,’ her father said.3

It is written in the fine print, there’s always a chance of a side effect with any drug. The little girl’s parents say they wish they had known.

‘I don’t think the 16 hours of symptom relief from the flu is worth the possible side effects that we went through,’ her father said.

As is usual with most corporate “mainstream” media stories regarding anything negative about a pharmaceutical product, the report included testimony from a doctor assuring the public that such side effects are very rare, and that the drug is very safe.

Hogwash.

Here are some more stories, posted as comments from the article posted on the Dallas-Fort Worth CBS site:

My nieces’ 53 year old husband took one dose of Tamiflu and died suddenly from respiratory failure. – Sally Baumann Rogers

My husband suffered from hallucinations attributed to Tamiflu last year after he was hospitalized for flu with pneumonia (despite getting a flu shot). He had been prescribed the drug after being discharged from the hospital. We called the pharmacist who was already aware of this as a side effect, as was the doctor who prescribed it. No one had mentioned this fact to us. He discontinued taking it immediately, but this is not a sudden discovery. – Vicki Lore Foley

I almost died from Tamiflu in 2013 after developing TTP [Thrombotic Thrombocytopenic Purpura], which is rare and almost always fatal blood disorder. For 5 days, in the ICU, I had to have blood transfusions and complete plasma transfer. I barely made it. TTP has a 95% morality rate. The Wisconsin Blood Center (a leading authority) studied my case for months to find a cause. I took Tamiflu and in 36 hours I was deathly ill. The doctors at laying the cause for my sudden illness at the feet of Tamiflu. Don’t take it! It does not help that much. My treatment and hospitalization was $48,000.00 for 5 days. – Allison Wiggins

The hallucinations are more common than 1%. My son had them. It is beyond frightening. “The voices, make them stop!” “Don’t let them hurt me!” Tamiflu is subjecting your child to a real life horror movie. What’s even worse, the hallucinations recurred for weeks following our immediate ceasing of the use of the drug. THIS IS REAL. Japan has banned TamiFlu after several children plunged to their deaths off high rise balconies or stepped into traffic attempting to escape the hallucinations. NEVER, NEVER administer this drug to your child. Tamiflu is not a cure. You’re risking subjecting your child to weeks of nightmarish torture for the convenience of lessening flu symptoms for a couple days. Don’t do it! – Davy Lane

I took that stuff once when I got the flu (after having a flu shot). Ended up vomiting for days and developed pneumonia. – Tracy Christine4

The Trouble Has Long Been Known And Ignored

Recognizing that Tamilfu is hype, not science, isn’t new. Even prestigious Forbes magazine attacked it in 2013, insisting that scientific evidence did not support the manufacturers claims for efficacy and safety. [Well, let’s be ABSOLUTELY ACCURATE: it did shorten the average duration of flu symptoms by less than a day: 16.8 hours, to be precise].

When approached for more of the data on which claims were made, Roche refused to cooperate.

The Forbes article concluded:

There remains substantial uncertainty about whether this drug is worth taking. Meanwhile, it is worth asking – why is [Roche] unwilling to share the information they have? And should doctors keep prescribing medicines when some potentially vital information is being kept out of view?5

It’s worse. a Cochrane review concluded: benefits of anti-viral flu drugs do not outweigh the risks.

The Cochrane Collaboration is considered to be the gold standard in evidence-based reviews. Previous versions of their review on anti-viral flu drugs revealed unresolved discrepancies in the published trials, including ‘substantial publication bias.’ While there were numerous studies on the topic, only a limited number had been published.

As a result, the Cochrane Collaboration turned to a more reputable source of data: complete clinical study reports. These are ‘unpublished, extensive documents with great detail on the trials that formed the basis for market approval.’

Until recently, these documents were only available to manufacturers and regulators, but, after a four-year effort, including a Freedom of Information suit, the researchers were able to assess these regulatory documents (all 160,000+ pages of them).

What they found was that the evidence does not support industry claims that these drugs (Tamiflu and another anti-viral drug Relenza [zanamivir]) lower the risk of complications such as pneumonia or that the benefits outweigh the risks. In other words, the official propaganda is just lies.

Indeed, Dr. Tom Jefferson, who led the study, noted, ‘I wouldn’t give it [Tamiflu] for symptom relief…’6

What Can You Do?

Have Dr. Keith’s Own® Super C standing by. Take 4 scoopfuls a day if symptoms do emerge.

Take vitamin D3, 5,000 IU minimum, as a protective.

If you do get hit by the flu, add vitamin A, 50,000 IU units daily, but only for a maximum of 3 days (safety).

Eat really carefully, no sugar, dairy or grains; no junk; no alcohol; organic is best and get plenty of sleep. It’s best to avoid public places, so no bars and restaurants. And if you can, avoid flying. The air in plane cabins is a summation of everyone’s expired air!

Stay well, summer is on the way!

Virus + Toxins = Cancer

epsteinbarrr

Cancer is still a mystery illness, meaning it is not fully understood by medical science and research. How is medical science and research so far from understanding the real causes of cancer? It’s partly because present day cancer research tends to focus on the issue of cancer once it has developed in the body. Rarely do researchers consider all the elements that had to come together to create this disease in the first place, and the few elements they have suggested, such as genetics, are not exactly accurate.

There are two major factors that must be present in your body to create the possibility of developing cancer. The first is toxins and the second is a virus (such as EBV) or multiple viruses in your system. Most viruses don’t actually want to hurt you, they usually just want to live forever in your body, but as they are fed toxins and damaging foods, they proliferate and can cause a multitude of illnesses, including various cancers.

When toxins are present in your body, any virus you may have has food to feed on. A virologist may tell you that viruses do not eat anything, but this is incorrect. Without the fuel they thrive off, like toxins, certain foods and adrenaline, viruses are not able to proliferate. If you have toxins in your system, but do not have a virus, you do not have to worry about developing the majority of cancers (asbestos is one exception as someone can develop cancer from exposure to it without having a virus). If you do have a virus in your system, and you rid toxins you of your body, you don’t have to worry either. You can protect yourself from cancers. Having said that, these harmful substances can still cause other unpleasant symptoms and conditions to arise.

You may not think you have been exposed to too many toxins during this lifetime, but you must remember that you can also inherit toxins. Heavy metals from a thousand years ago can be passed to you through your family line, and DDT from generations ago can be inherited as well. This is not passed down via your genes, but actually occurs during pregnancy itself and can affect the egg. It is critical to be aware of the fact that we are passing down more chemicals and toxins than ever before in history and medical science and research usually wont admit to this.

If you have both toxins and a virus in your system, know that there are ways to bring down both your toxin load and viral load, so that you can help avoid the possibility of developing cancer. On the other hand, if you have both factors present in your system and toxins continue to accumulate in different areas of the body, the virus may proliferate and lead to cancer in the future.

There are endless variations and combinations within these two groups (viruses and toxins) that lead to the countless cancer diagnoses. Someone may have a few heavy metals, some pesticides and solvents, a little bit of radiation and one strain of a particular virus.  Viruses today have many strains, not just one like medical science and research admits. For example, Epstein-Barr virus has more than 60 varieties and there are 31 varieties of shingles, and these numbers are increasing. Another person may have carpet chemicals lingering in their system, pesticides, and a completely different mutated virus. The kind of virus or viruses and the type and quantity of toxins in the system will look different for each person suffering with cancer. Even if you don’t experience a host of negative viral symptoms, you may still have a virus in your body that can lead to cancer in the future. Some people may get Epstein-Barr-related mononucleosis for a brief period as a child, but never develop any other symptoms or conditions as an adult that may lead them to believe they have viral issues. However, these people can still have a virus in their system and develop cancer later on depending on their toxin load and particular life circumstances.

I’ve known some people who have smoked for fifty years and never developed cancer. In these cases, the people had toxins in their system from smoking, but did not have a virus, the second factor, which contributes to the development of cancer. However, other health issues aside from cancer can arise from smoking. Another person who wasn’t a smoker may have breathed in a lot of hairspray throughout his or her life, have a virus in his or her body and develop lung cancer at some point. Someone else may never use hairspray, never smoke a day in his or her life, and may still develop cancer because of exposure to toxins from other sources and a virus within his or her system. Everyone’s body is different. Everybody has different toxins, different viruses, and each person who develops cancer develops it because of the unique makeup of these two factors in the person’s body. Fortunately, we have the power to protect ourselves. We are not imprisoned by our genetics because it’s not true that genetics determine whether we will have cancer- despite this being the common belief in medical communities today.

Epstein-Barr Virus

As I said, there are more than sixty different varieties of Epstein-Barr. No one knew about these sixty strains before I brought that information to light. Just seven years ago, I was talking with a chemist, biologist, and immunologist about a client, and they were shocked to hear about the various Epstein-Barr mutations. Today, more people are open to that idea, which some have been trying to make known for decades. If you have Epstein-Barr, it does not mean you are destined to develop cancer. Epstein-Barr can actually be a relatively docile virus that doesn’t have to lead to cancer, but that can change if the virus is constantly given foods that fortify and strengthen it. Fortunately, there are many things you can do to help combat cancer if it does become an issue.

Epstein-Barr Cancers

If you are suffering with cancer, you may be unknowingly battling a virus and harboring a lot of toxins. I do believe that all prostate cancer is related to an Epstein-Barr virus, as well as any leukemia. Some leukemias are partly caused by heavy metals in the system, but the virus component is due to an Epstein-Barr strain. A child with leukemia usually has both heavy metals, such as extremely high levels of mercury, and a variety of Epstein-Barr, typically in its mononucleosis phase.

Any kind of carcinoma is a variety of Epstein-Barr. While there are a few asbestos-related lung cancers, the majority of lung cancers are related to Epstein-Barr. Any thyroid or liver cancer is Epstein-Barr, and some brain cancers are Epstein-Barr as well. Epstein-Barr can also create pancreatic cancer. The fact that breast cancers are connected to Epstein-Barr is just now starting to be discussed, but this topic was actually address decades ago.

Viral cancer cells typically teach human cancer cells which food sources to use as fuel. With this information, mutated human cells in a tumor go after particular foods and can cause a tumor to continue to increase in size. The Epstein-Barr virus and any mutated human cells it may be influencing tend to love eggs and dairy products.

My wish is that you find hope in the truth shared here. You don’t have to be a victim to the misinformation around genetics that suggests that illness will come one day no matter what and the rug is pulled out from underneath you. Knowing the truth gives you freedom and control over your health so you can be empowered to move forward with confidence. If you are suffering with a herpetic virus, such as Epstein-Barr, and want to avoid developing cancer in the future, patience and persistence with the correct healing protocol can help bring down your viral and toxic load and offer protection for your future self. You can still have a virus and not get cancer and you can still have toxins and not get cancer. Lowering your toxins and/or viral load are the two opportunities to help yourself heal.

Roasted Artichokes with Roasted Garlic Butter

Roasted Artichokes with Roasted Garlic Butter

Roasted Artichokes with Roasted Garlic Butter

INGREDIENTS

2 large globe artichokes

3 large lemons, 2 juiced, 1 sliced to yield 4 slices

Extra virgin olive oil

salt and freshly ground black pepper

12 whole cloves garlic

4 sprigs fresh thyme

4 sprigs fresh rosemary

1 stick salted butter, very soft

INSTRUCTIONS

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Fill a bowl large enough to accommodate the artichokes when halved with water (about 2 quarts). Add the lemon juice (I also toss in the lemon pieces.)

As you complete each of the following steps, immediately immerse the artichoke in the lemon (acidulated) water.

–Trim any dry stem end from the bottom of the artichoke.

–Remove tough outer leaves from the bottom of the artichoke.

–Trim approximately 1 inch from the top of each artichoke.

–Trim the tips of each leaf. (Be careful! They can have sharp barbs.)

–Cut the artichoke in half from top to bottom.

–Scoop the fuzzy choke from the center of each artichoke.

Drizzle a large baking dish or roasting pan with olive oil. Season artichokes with salt and black pepper. Place 3 cloves of garlic in each artichoke, top each with a sprig of thyme and rosemary, then place a lemon slice on each. Carefully flip the artichoke half over so that the cut side is facing down. (Make sure the garlic is securely inside so that it doesn’t burn.) Drizzle with olive oil.

Cover with foil. Roast for 45 to 50 minutes or until tender. (Test doneness by gently pulling on one of the leaves or test with a small, sharp knife.

Place the softened butter in a small saucepan. Remove the garlic cloves from the pan and add to the butter. Mash it into the butter, then gently melt the butter.

Serve the artichokes with the butter.

Cuisine: French | Recipe Type: Vegetables

TO MAKE AHEAD: Roast until the artichokes are almost tender (about 40 minutes). Cool and refrigerate. Mash the garlic into the softened butter and refrigerate. Heat covered in a 375 degree oven until tender. Melt butter and serve.

Foods That Heal a Thyroid

Foods For Your Thyroid

Let Food Be thy Medicine, and Medicine Be Thy Food

We have been told for decades by authorities that food has nothing to do with healing. In fact, only in the very recent past has modern medicine started to discuss foods as a way to prevent illness. In the last five to ten years conventional medical experts have started talking about the healing benefits of foods more than ever, as if this was wisdom they knew all along. It might seem like this would be a positive shift in the health field, but unfortunately this trend has resulted in some of the most healing foods, such as fruits, being unfairly attacked by the newest experts. Because of this trend, it’s critical that you err on the side of caution so you are not fooled by this recent development of trendy misinformation. It’s important to remember that it’s the doctors and experts in alternative health that have known for a very long time that foods heal the body and they were ridiculed for it. Still, both conventional and alternative health communities have yet to fully understand the power of foods that can actually reverse and heal diseases that have plagued people for decades.

The foods in this article are so powerful, and scientific research knows almost nothing about them. Science and research have not even scratched the surface of what is in foods and are years away from discovering what is in a wild blueberry, for example, or any other healing food. Funding simply does not get devoted to researching truly healing foods.

Are you chronically overweight, do you have high cholesterol levels that statins don’t help, unexplained hair loss, short or nonexistent eye brows, chronic tendinitis, or autoimmune system problems, then you have a sensitive or disturbed thyroid.  The true cause of thyroid disease, Hashimoto’s thyroiditis, hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism, Grave’s disease, and almost all other thyroid conditions and symptoms is the Epstein-Barr Virus (EBV). Medical science and research have not yet done the research of this truth. EBV is not just a trigger for people who are already dealing with a chronic illness or even a thyroid condition as some health professionals believe. A trigger is not a true cause. That is a lazy mistake. The virus is the true cause. This is a subtle but serious critical difference in knowledge that’s essential to understand.

It is crucial to understand that EBV is the true cause of thyroid problems so you can begin including the foods that fight this virus and support the thyroid. Knowing the cause can change everything when it comes to healing. There are many people who call themselves autoimmune experts who suggest one diet or another these days. While it may be easy to follow these trendy diets, we must ask ourselves whether it is even possible for these medical experts to recommend which foods to avoid and which foods to include when they do not even know what causes thyroid disease and other thyroid conditions and symptoms in the first place. These experts tell us that thyroid conditions such as Hashimoto’s thyroiditis is our immune system attacking our own body. This is reckless, outdated information that does not help someone heal. Furthermore, scientific research knows very little about what is in foods and what foods can do. These two things puts their credibility in question. We have to be the ones to become experts. It’s critical for our own health and the health of our loved ones.

Many of the foods discussed here are controversial and may seem contradictory to other information you have heard elsewhere. This is again because most of the thyroid information that is available today is outdated and inaccurate. It can take 10 or more years for new medical information to filter down to some of the medical community.

Brassica/Cruciferous Family

The first food is actually a group of foods called cruciferous vegetables, which include kale, broccoli, cauliflower, brussels sprouts, broccoli raab, arugula, and cabbage. You may have heard that cruciferous vegetables, also known as brassicas, are harmful for anyone with a thyroid problem. This is an example of misinformation that becomes trendy and is shared widely despite it not being accurate. And it is even harmful because these foods are some of the most powerful healers for anyone with a thyroid condition or symptom. The mistaken theory suggests that the goitrogenic compounds contained in these foods are harmful to the thyroid. However, it is impossible to consume enough cruciferous vegetables for them to become dangerous for your thyroid. In truth, even if you eat a barrel full of cauliflower, you will still be safe. The reason is due to something currently undiscovered within these foods called anti-goitrogenic compounds. These same vegetables that contain the goitrogenic compounds contain equal amounts of compounds that cancel out the goitrogenic ones. Therefore, there should be no fear when consuming these delicious healing vegetables, whether raw or cooked.

Actually, if someone avoids them due to this misinformation, they are truly missing out on what these foods have to offer. There are phytochemical compounds in kale, brussels sprouts, and all these vegetables that do so much to heal your thyroid that you would be cheating yourself if you decided to avoid them “just to be safe.” The phytochemical compounds literally push the virus out of the thyroid and destroy it. Since it is a pathogen we are going after when trying to heal thyroid issues, it is critical to understand the healing properties the brassicas possess and incorporate them into your diet. Some broccoli and cauliflower are not going to hurt you; they will help you.

Artichokes

Look at an artichoke to visualize just how strong and protective this food is for the thyroid. You see the layered leaves on the outside, the tips of which are spiked and sharp. The leaves are thick and hearty on the outer layer and become thinner and denser as they reach the center of the vegetable. At the center lies the heart, which the entire leaf system is safeguarding and supporting. In the same way, the majestic artichoke can protect your thyroid, making it the most powerful food for thyroid healing.

There are so many undiscovered compounds in artichokes that work for your thyroid, including subgroups of phytochemicals that shrink nodules, tumors, and cysts. There are undiscovered antioxidants and amino acids, which hopefully science will begin to see 30 years down the road. Artichokes also protect your thyroid from invaders, such as the pathogen you now know to be the true cause of thyroid disease.

When consuming artichokes, fresh is always best. If you purchase canned, bottled, or even frozen artichoke hearts, citric acid is often an additive, which can be harmful to your health in different ways and should be avoided. But the artichoke hearts will still help heal the thyroid, regardless of the citric acid. If for some reason you are unable to get fresh artichokes, soak your canned, bottled, or frozen artichoke hearts overnight in water with a pinch of sea salt. The next day, rinse them well and almost all of the citric acid will be gone. If you steam your artichokes, you may also add a pinch of sea salt to this water, too.

Atlantic Sea Vegetables

Sea vegetables are another food group that tends to ruffle some feathers, typically due to the high iodine content. There is a commonly held belief that anyone with Hashimoto’s thyroiditis should avoid sea vegetables and iodine altogether. This is based on a current trend that’s focused on the idea that iodine creates inflammation of the thyroid. However, the people recommending to stay away from foods like dulse and kelp are the same people who do not know what causes thyroid disease in the first place. Therefore, would it even be possible to understand whether iodine is harmful or not? Atlantic sea vegetables are not among the foods to avoid, and here is why.

Atlantic sea vegetables, especially dulse and kelp do, in truth, contain elevated amounts of iodine, but this is helpful. Iodine acts as an antiseptic for the thyroid. It is a disinfectant and cleans the thyroid out of any viruses, such as Epstein-Barr virus, the very pathogen we are targeting when wanting to heal from Hashimoto’s, Grave’s, or any of the other various thyroid issues that are so prominent today. Iodine deficiency today is very different to the kind we faced in the past. Years ago, we were deficient in iodine due to the new cultivation process of grains, which was stripping grains down so that they became a very different food than they were before. These days, many organic farmers are aware of iodine deficiencies in the soil, and so they cleverly use seaweed fertilizers to enrich the growing process with iodine. This, though, is not enough. We require more iodine than we ever did before, because of the vast amount of people struggling to fight viruses in their thyroid. This is why it’s so important to include sea vegetables in your diet. Dulse and kelp help you protect your thyroid if it’s under attack from EBV, which is very common for many people, and support healing in powerful ways. The iodine in sea vegetables also protects the thyroid from radiation and helps to prevent thyroid cancer and other cancers.

If you are afraid of the iodine in sea vegetables and are having a hard time letting go of the idea that they are bad for you, try just including a little bit of Atlantic dulse in your diet here and there. Just start off small. Sprinkle a teaspoon of dulse flakes on your salad once a week. Stir a strip of Atlantic kelp into your soup for dinner. Try to get small amounts of it in as you learn to trust that iodine is helpful, not harmful.

My recommendation is to opt for the sea vegetables from the east coast, from the Atlantic Ocean. The Pacific Ocean is too polluted for us to be regularly consuming vegetables from its waters. The dulse and kelp that come from Maine are the best ones to eat. These are powerful foods that can bring you so much healing.

Be sure not to confuse the iodine in sea vegetables with the bottles of topical iodine from the pharmacy. Topical iodine is not to be consumed orally.

Bananas

While bananas may seem like a common fruit, they actually contain powerful properties to help you heal from your thyroid disease, conditions, and symptoms. Bananas help restore neurotransmitters and support healing from neurological problems, which are among the symptoms related to thyroid problems. Neurotoxins from viruses like EBV can creep into your body and cause symptoms like brain fog, memory loss, fatigue, restless legs syndrome, insomnia, tremors, tingles and numbness, headaches, tinnitus, anxiety, depression, and many more. This fruit is an anti-inflammatory, anti-EBV food that can greatly help you in healing from and preventing thyroid conditions and symptoms. Bananas are also good for hypoglycemia because they balance blood sugar and protect adrenals. Additionally, they knock out streptococcus, which unknown to medical science and research is the bacteria responsible for SIBO, from the intestinal tract. Streptococcus is a cofactor for Epstein-Barr Virus.

There is a current trend that started approximately 11 years ago that warns people to not eat bananas. The common thought is that bananas have too much sugar, which often leads people to believe that the sugar in bananas is the same as the sugar in a donut. This could not be further from the truth. The sugar contained in bananas, and in all fruits, is glucose that our brain requires on a daily basis.

The panic about bananas is completely unfounded, especially because science has yet to even discover what is in a banana. Once medical research came across potassium, they stopped any further inquiry simply because there is no money is banana research. What is not talked about is that bananas are very rich in calcium because they require calcium-rich soil to grow. The calcium in bananas is very important for the central nervous system. Furthermore, we need calcium from fruits, leafy greens, and vegetables in the diet when there are nodules in the thyroid. Nodules deplete our systems of any calcium that we already have, making us deficient in this necessary nutrient. Bananas are excellent at preventing calcium deficiency.

Many people are accustomed to eating bananas when they are still fairly green. Others have been told to eat them when they’re completely green and hard as a rock by recent experts who fear fruit and don’t understand what they’re recommending. They try to back up their recommendations with biased studies that are anti-fruit, which puts people into fruit fear. This is another colossal, trendy blunder that’s slowing down the healing process in chronic illness. When bananas are in this state, they are unripe and can actually be quite difficult to digest and assimilate all the nutrients you are trying to acquire from the banana in the first place. Allow your bananas to ripen until there is no visible green, they are slightly soft to the touch, and there are even some brown spots. You also don’t want them too overripe. The best time to eat them is when they are lightly speckled with brown spots, but haven’t turned mostly brown. When fruits are ripe, they will become much sweeter because the sugar has matured and the nutrients will be their most bioavailable at this point. Their sugars will also most effectively hold and suspend the most important nutrients for reversing and preventing disease.

I encourage you to incorporate as many bananas as you want to in your diet because they are such an amazing gift to us for healing and nourishment. Even if you do not have a thyroid condition or symptom, bananas can be an amazing staple, especially because they are commonly affordable and available year-round in most places in the world. Every time you go to the store, add a few bunches to your cart. Keep several bunches of bananas on your kitchen counter at all times. Freeze them when you have a lot of ripe ones so they are ready to throw into smoothies or to make banana ice cream. You can even eat four or five at a time and experience how satisfied they make you feel when they are properly ripened. If you eat them with a few stalks of celery, you will have an especially nourishing, balancing, and restorative meal or snack.

Cucumbers

Cucumbers are another important food to include because they strengthen the adrenals and the kidneys while flushing toxins created by viruses from the bloodstream. Cucumbers also hydrate the lymphatic system. Our lymphatic system can be found at various places around our body, but some of the most important lymph nodes are the ones that surround the thyroid in the neck. We want to protect this part of our lymphatic system because of its close proximity to the thyroid.

People who are too sick to exercise will benefit greatly from increasing their consumption of cucumbers. This healing food will support your lymphatic system in lieu of the exercise you are not quite ready for.

Garlic

Garlic is an incredible food for thyroid healing because it essentially acts like an anti-viral bomb that can do wonders for eliminating EBV from your system. It also kills off streptococcus, which, as I mentioned above, is a cofactor of EBV. Strep is connected to UTIs, sinus infections, SIBO, acne, and many more symptoms. Garlic has a fantastic way of getting deep into the throat to fight off bugs in the lymph system and thyroid.

Some people stay away from garlic because they either believe it is unhealthy, or they simply cannot handle the strength of the flavor. Garlic is not an unhealthy food. It is very good for you because of its antiviral compounds. If it is the flavor that is keeping you away from garlic, try to eat scallions and onions instead because they contain similar properties.

I want to inspire you to include both raw and cooked garlic into your meals and to get creative with it! There is no need to burn your throat by eating too much, but try to get garlic in any way you can. Make guacamole with a couple cloves of raw garlic mixed in. Instead of adding one clove of garlic to your vegetable soup, add four. Mince or press a clove of garlic for your savory salad or add it it your salad dressing. You can even rub a piece of raw garlic on a baked sweet potato. Also, I recommend investing in a simple, inexpensive garlic press. This will make it much easier to consume garlic regularly because sometimes mincing garlic with a knife can be a bit tedious.

Celery

Celery is one of the most amazing foods given to us to heal from thyroid issues because of its long list of healing properties, most of which are unknown to science and research. Celery strengthens hydrochloric acid in the intestinal tract, helps the liver produce bile to break down food, and stabilizes the adrenals. Celery provides special undiscovered subgroups of mineral salts that attack the virus that causes Hashimoto’s. Celery also contains powerful electrolytes for the nervous system and boosts T3, a hormone in the thyroid. Find out more of the unknown healing properties of celery in Thyroid Healing. If celery doesn’t taste good to you, try chopping it up very small and adding it to your salad. Add a stick or two to your next smoothie. Juice it and drink it alone, or juice it with some cucumber, an apple, or pineapple if you need help with the flavor. This is another important food to include and find creative ways of getting into your meals.

Asparagus

At the moment, scientific research does not know much about what is contained inside an asparagus, but they are beginning to tap into some new chemical compounds. What research does not know is that asparagus supports the thyroid and is one of its most enthusiastic and powerful advocates. Think of asparagus as your friend or family member that consistently has your back and is your constant support. There are phytochemicals in the skin and in the tips of asparagus that push back invaders, whether those invaders are chemical or viral. Asparagus also has an alkaloid that acts as a gentle aspirin throughout the body, calming down the body and lowering inflammation. As opposed to over-the-counter aspirin, this quality in asparagus does not thin the blood or create havoc in the stomach. There are so many ways to consume asparagus. To start, you can try juicing it raw, adding it to raw to salads, or eating it lightly steamed.

Radishes

Radishes are one of those vegetables that, because they have a bite to them, are often neglected. However, they are wonderful to include if you want to heal your thyroid. Radishes are an antiviral food due to their high and unique sulfur content. The sulfur contained in radishes is unlike that of any other vegetable because it specifically kills pathogens throughout the body. This is one of the ultimate foods for Hashimoto’s or any kind of thyroid problem because of its unique ability to kill off EBV, which is exactly what you want to do throughout your healing process. The sulfur compound acts like a smoke screen, saturating the thyroid and removing pathogens. Another quality of radishes is that they can prevent and stop thyroid atrophy. When the thyroid is infected, it can often atrophy due to its lack of use, which gives you just one more reason to include radishes on top of salads and to eat as snacks. While the variety of radish most people are familiar with is quite spicy, there are so many other varieties to try that are either milder or even spicier. Watermelon radishes and grapes radishes are beautiful choices to be found at local farmers markets and health food stores and are more mild. There are even black radishes that have a strong but delicious bite. These varieties will change everything you know about radishes and are fun to add to dishes and try with your family.

Potatoes

Potatoes are another controversial food because they have been mistakenly labeled as a white food. Even though potatoes are white on the inside, they are not a white food. Radishes, bananas, jicama, and cultivated blueberries are all white on the inside with a different color skin, and yet they are not considered white foods. Potatoes have gold skin, red skin, brown skin, and even purple skin. There are so many varieties of potatoes available to us that are healthful to include in our diet, especially if we want to fight the virus that causes thyroid problems. Potatoes, contrary to popular belief, are not devoid of nutrition. Rather, they are full of it! They have very high amounts of L lysine and tyrosine. The humble potato is one of the ultimate EBV killers and is wonderful to include in your diet despite it being under attack by many diet trends today. These diets and the experts behind them don’t understand thyroid illness or any other chronic illness. By shunning the potato because it goes against their own personal food beliefs they are taking away an opportunity to receive the healing benefits from a fantastic food you may need for no reason.

Tomatoes

Tomatoes are amazing for the thyroid because they contain their very own variety of vitamin C. Researchers are currently unaware that there are multiple types of vitamin C in fruit. This vitamin C in tomato is created through the moonlight frequency that is absorbed when the tomato is growing outdoors. This special vitamin C supports the thyroid like no other kind by keeping it balanced. Tomato has always been scrutinized because it’s classed as a nightshade. The new trend of the day suggests we should remove seeds from the tomato, which isn’t helpful. This trend stems once again from well-meaning experts who don’t know what causes thyroid and chronic illnesses in the first place. They are offering food advice based on outdated studies that have a “thumb on the scale” that have influenced their outcomes, which in turn can hinder healing.

Barley Grass Juice Extract Powder

This powerful supplement pulls out mercury and heavy metals, which feed the virus you are trying to get rid of when healing from thyroid conditions and symptoms. Barley grass juice extract powder also has alkaloids that feed the thyroid, which in turn prevents the thyroid from atrophying.

Try to have fun with the different foods and find new ways to incorporate these healing, powerful fruits, vegetables, leafy greens, herbs, and supplements into your daily life. When you feed yourself with the foods that fight EBV and support thyroid health and other chronic illnesses, you are giving your body the best support you can and healing can happen.
