Tea Tree Oil; Only a few of its benefits

teatreeoil

Tea tree oil is an essential oil that has a number of extraordinary uses. It is especially useful and effective when used as part of a beauty regimen or to treat medical conditions and skin ailments. Below are some excellent suggestions for use.

Clear and soothe

Tea tree oil is fantastic for treating skin ailments. Some of the most common issues that tea tree oil is effective in treating are acne, skin sores, cold sores and boils. When used as an acne treatment, this essential oil works just as well as the common drugstore acne treatment remedy benzoyl peroxide. The method of use is also just as simple as this natural remedy. In order to treat acne, just dilute a few drops of tea tree oil with 20 to 40 drops of witch hazel and then dab onto the acne site once to twice a day. Just take care not to overuse this treatment and ensure that time spent in the sun is reduced, as tea tree oil makes one especially susceptible to UV rays. Tea tree oil is also a great way to treat pesky skin sores, cold sores and boils because of its antiseptic properties which aid in reducing the possibility of infection, sepsis or putrefaction of the skin. To treat, apply directly onto the sore a few times a day.

Beauty regimen

Every woman loves to pamper herself, and there is no better way to do so than through using a natural and fragrant essential oil. Tea tree oil works well as a makeup remover, cuticle softener and toenail fungus remover. To gently remove makeup on normal to dry skin, blend well together 1/4 cup of canola oil with 10 drops of tea tree oil in a clean jar. The mixture is used as other makeup removers would be used, as all that is needed is to apply the mixture to a cotton ball and wipe away the makeup followed by rinsing the face with warm water. Damaged cuticles are a pesky issue, but one can remedy the problem by simply mixing together 10 drops of tea tree oil with 10 drops of lavender oil, 1 tablespoon jojoba oil and 1 tablespoon avocado oil and massaging the mixture into the cuticles, thus effectively softening and repairing them. Lastly, those suffering from toenail fungus simply need to dab a few drops of the oil onto the fungus for three months, or until the fungus clears away.

Medical conditions

Tea tree oil is also an effective way to treat medical conditions such as chicken pox and psoriasis. In order to treat chicken pox, simply mix together 1 tablespoon of olive oil with a few drops of tea tree oil and swab over the chicken pox a few times a day. Psoriasis uses the same mixture; to sooth the skin condition and reduce itching, rub into the affected skin a few times a day. Overall, it’s a wonderful and effective remedy for a number of issues. Love yourself and your body, and treat yourself today with tea tree oil.

Supplements, Pregnancy and Death

If you are taking supplements, or powder, or detox cleansing drinks, or any of the products for weight lost or body sculpting, you are injuring the organs of your body.

You will see them promoted as nutritional supplements for energy, nutrition, weight loss and sports promoting.

As we speak, there is testimony going on in Washington D.C. to regulate or eliminate these products all together. You can get supplements with a potent dose of additives like caffeine over the counter and online is disconcerting, highlighting the need for better regulation of these types of substances.

These products are meant to raise your blood pressure which gives you false energy, and

terribly effects your nervous system. They claim to have amino acids, where they tell you your body can not produce them, vitamins and minerals, and then look closely at the caffeine, and sometime L-tyrosine.

Any medical personnel will tell you that your body produces the right amount of amino acids that your body needs. More than what you need is dangerous! They will usually list the vitamins and minerals, which can be impressive, but again, medical personnel will tell you how dangerous it is to take individual B vitamins. The levels of caffeine are usually 200 times the normal daily intake.

We are seeing infertility rates triple when a woman has taken these products. You need that fat tissue around your abdomen, that men do not have, in order to get pregnant, and to carry a successful baby to term.  We are seeing a large number of deaths being reported in emergency medicine rooms, in people under the age of 30. Women over the age of 50, might have the right intention with their protein shake, but it is killing them.

These are all legal acquired products, over the counter, or through a respectable representative.

However, some are still under the impression that, because they’re “supplements,” they can’t possibly hurt — which underscores the need for more regulation in the U.S. — but in the meantime, we should heed the warnings.

So, beware and be smart: Over-the-counter supplements are not without dangers, and they can be just potent as the drugs prescribed by your doc.

Perhaps more so.

Less Sleep, Faster Brain Aging

Less Sleep, Faster Brain Aging

This troubling finding comes from a Singapore-based study showing that losing sleep with advancing age elicits changes in a region of the brain that is a marker for faster cognitive decline. The 66 Chinese seniors who participated had MRIs to measure their brain volume in conjunction with an evaluation of their cognitive function every two years. They also reported how many hours they typically slept. The researchers, from Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School Singapore, reported that study participants who slept fewer hours showed evidence of brain ventricle enlargement and declines in cognitive performance. This study was the first to look at the effect of sleep on brain ventricle enlargement, a known sign of cognitive decline. The investigators cited research elsewhere as showing that seven hours of sleep is associated with the best cognitive test scores in more than 150,000 adults, but noted that it is not yet known whether seven hours is optimum for overall physiology and long term brain health.

My take? This study adds a serious risk to the list of dangers posed by sleep deprivation throughout life. We know that lack of sleep increases the risk of accidents caused by fatigue and that not getting enough sleep is a risk factor for weight gain, perhaps by disrupting production of the appetite regulating hormones ghrelin and leptin. Sleep deprivation can also disrupt the body’s regulation of blood sugar, which can increase the risk of type 2 diabetes. And laboratory studies suggest that not getting adequate rest may also elevate levels of stress hormones, boost blood pressure, and increase inflammation – all changes that may lead or contribute to health concerns later in life. If you’re not getting enough sleep, the sooner you establish new habits, the better for the long-term health of your mind and body. Here are my recommendations for getting optimal sleep.

Want To Age Gracefully? It’s not about the lines on the face – it’s about the wisdom behind them. Don’t lament the passing of the years, celebrate all you have achieved, learned and earned, for your benefit and the benefit of others. Sources: June C.
